I was a Glee Club member in high school. I was in the church choir too for part of my young adult life. I have joined a few cantatas and even sang solos as part of church programs. And yes, if there’s a gathering and the karaoke machine is available, I would belt out a song or two. While I don’t claim to have a star quality voice, there’s music within me.
In our current women’s bible study on joy, a chapter discussed that one way to express this emotion is through music. It shows a clear connection between God, joy and music, that calls us to create beautiful sounds by either playing an instrument or using our voice as an act of worship.
No one can stop joy of heart and the music within that draws us to God and experience Him in a deeper way. As Psalm 89:1 says, “I will sing of the Lord’s unfailing love forever!”
