If you have not seen the viral video of Nash, the golden retriever, you should watch it. An intruder came to their house while his owners were out. No barking greeted the thief, just an invitation from Nash to play. The same hospitality was offered to the police, who came to the house after Nash’s owners alerted them.
While many have labeled Nash the worst guard dog ever, we too let our guard down from time to time. Just think of the tourists in popular destinations who fall prey to pickpockets and bag-snatching through distractions. When we start feeling comfortable, we are not as alert as we should be and forget about our safety.
The Bible tells us to be aware and to be vigilant (1 Peter 5:9). Just like the distractions that throw us off, the devil also looks for people who will fall for his schemes. Maintain a clear mind and avoid getting scammed.
