It’s Good to Know When to Fight

My daughter Christiane was visiting Cartagena, Colombia, when she almost got robbed. The thief grabbed her crossbody bag. In the process, she fell and got dragged, while holding tightly to her bag. Eventually, the man gave up. Christiane fought hard and came home with battle scars on her knees and elbows.

One of the things we learned in the Active Shooter training is to fight. However, we’re reminded of the need to commit to it because it’s a matter of life and death. We can give up property as they’re replaceable, but we only have one life to live here on earth.

Paul talked about fighting the fight as well—the good fight of faith, that is (1 Timothy 6:12). And again, it’s about making a firm decision to hold tight, giving it all we’ve got and remaining strong in the Lord. After all, we must think of eternity too.
