Jane, a former co-worker, was always sick. And when she was at work, she was constantly doing her breathing treatment. Come to find out, her dishwasher had a slow leak, and mold was growing inside the walls of her home. And there was also a patch in her backyard that was constantly wet, another breeding ground for mold. After winning the lawsuit, they remediated the mold and remodeled the damaged areas of their home.
It’s interesting that mold was compared to leprous disease in the Old Testament. It was so important to stop it from spreading that God gave instructions on how to report cases to the priests. The priests, in turn, did home inspections and relayed what to do to clean the affected home. The house will be off limits for a week, the “diseased” stones removed and wall plaster to be scraped off and replaced with new ones. All the removed materials must be thrown outside of the city. You can read about the process in Leviticus 14:33-45.
God is concerned about our cleanliness and health that He takes care of even the smallest details.
