Someone’s Watching

I received a call from my daughter while on an overseas trip. She met up with one of my close friends for coffee. “Mom, you need to talk to your BFF as she is afraid to go to the doctor. I told her that you will travel to the Philippines if she needs you and that she can count on you!”

I wondered about what my daughter said for days and how she came to this conclusion about me. Was it when I flew to Colorado to spend a couple of days when a girlfriend was going through divorce? Was it when I drove for consecutive days to be there for a sick friend with very restrictive visiting hours? Or when a few friends listed me as one of their children’s schools’ emergency contacts?

Paul said, “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise” (Ephesians 5:15). There’s no denying that my daughter has been watching me.
