It’s been more than a month since the official “defrosting of Mariah Carey” for her iconic All I Want for Christmas Is You. The classic Frosty the Snowman has made its comeback too. Turkeys, hams and other meats are defrosting for either baking, roasting or grilling. Cookies, loaves and cakes will be frosted and iced.
Some people like the chill factor during the holiday season to smartly dress the part in designer sweater, scarf, coat, hat, mitts and boots—that’s if you’re out walking in the set of Hallmark’s Winter Wonderland. Or when you’re desperate for a photo to send out, you do a quick run to the mall for a pictorial, taking full advantage of the yuletide spirit.
Psalm 51:10 says, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” The heart desperately needs defrosting. Once it’s soft, and devoid of the world’s trimmings, God’s desire is to write His Word on it to bring it new life. Then, it’s ready year-round for Him—no defrosting and frosting needed!
