When We Ignore the Right Thing

Two teams decided that it’s time to get another rival family out of the running. The plan was to mislead the family members at headquarters with instructions to give up the rival survivalist’s fire-starting kit for an undisclosed reward. This was written in Morse Code on a card and slipped into one of the journals. Of course, the journal happened to be laying about for that family to find—and they immediately got excited about their “advantage.” One side showed the cunningness of evildoers while the other revealed opportunists.

We are constantly reminded that the enemy “prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8). But let’s not pretend that we are not tempted and persuaded by our own want too (James 1:14). By staying resilient in our faith during challenging times, we can emerge safe and secure.
