Written from My Heart

I love writing notecards to people I love and care for! It brings me back to the wonderful moments I enjoyed with them—exactly the perfect starts!

But what is more a delight is that I too receive beautiful messages back from them. One friend said, “It was so fun to see your handwriting in my mail. Thank you for your sweet kind note.” Another one wrote, saying, “Thank you for your sweet card. Interesting that your note is on a Van Gogh painting…as I wanted to know more about him and his paintings.” Unexpected yet always timely and welcomed!

Paul’s opening remarks to the Ephesian, Philippian and Colossian believers speak of the same loving mutual relationship. He sent the believers God’s grace and peace. He thanked God for them. And he prayed for truth to bear fruit in them.

You can’t write what’s not in your heart for “the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere” (James 3:17).
