There’s so much music during the holiday season. Special concerts everywhere. Even your family gathering won’t be lacking any of those well-loved yule songs.
Come to think of it, there didn’t seem to be any singing when the birth of Jesus was announced. It was a straightforward delivery of a message by angels that brought fear to the shepherds in the beginning. Of course, we must soften this kind of scene with Hollywood effects. And try to put our thinking caps to wrap more elements and sprinkle it with musical performances that will sure touch the hearts of everyone.
It says in the book of Luke, “Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests’” (2:13-14). “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord” (v.11).
There is still one word that sums it up for us: praise. Yes, praise God for His precious Son, His greatest gift to us, for all seasons!
