Do you know that the Bible has lots of stories on celebrations? And their events were not just little gatherings with plate service, ambient lighting and mood music. They were block parties that had buffets, open bars and dancing, with some even lasting for days.
Having worked at hotels, I love parties myself. I don’t enjoy much the hassle of prepping and cooking so, if left to make the decision, I will order a well-curated menu or hire a caterer or pick a venue.
I may seem like a nitpicker, but what I really focus on is who’s coming to the party. It’s important for me to have the right guests. It’s about creating memories with the people I love and care about the most.
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it,” says Psalm 118:24. It’s my birthday month! I am thankful to God for giving me a special year with loved ones gathered around my table to celebrate with me!
