A Different Kind of Network

An email came from the editor of a women’s website I regularly write for. With almost 50 names in the message recipient, I could easily have dismissed and deleted the email. But I read it. It was a beautiful invitation to connect all of us writers through our stories and journeys. And it started with our editor.

One by one, the replies came. We shared a little about ourselves to add the personal touch. Then, we were free to talk about a need in our life, perhaps a health issue, a struggling son, or a bleak financial outlook, and ask for prayer. And if we wanted to direct others to check out our own works, to include links to our social media and websites.

We may be just a network of women to some, but the exercise was a heartwarming experience. We are women of faith brought together by our passion for writing. Together, we are “[encouraging] one another and [building] up each other” just as the believers were told to do (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
